R&B, Soul Chi-Town Indie Artist Bishop Goodnight

R&B, Soul Chi-Town Indie Artist Bishop Goodnight

Peace, Love, & Global Harmony to All of God’s Rainbow Tribes…

Come join Bishop Goodnight & Nesheba of ESpiritE-Radio7, for an inspiring story of transitioning, evolving, standing, coming out victorious through the storms, and tribulations of life… We all go through things in life; it’s how we come through them that well stand the test of time…

A Saint, but a Sinner that has been through more than you could imagine; my name is self-explanatory. I am a witness, advisor and a testimony. It began before I arrived. The connection of music filled my family with love; to the point that when I was born, it was passed down to me. My great grandmother, my grandmother, and my mother are all vocally inclined.

I attend Rose of Light M.B.C. with my grandmother, from a child until present day. I went from being in the children choir, to JR choir, and then eventually to the adult choir. As a child I use to entertain my mother’s guest by putting on shows in our living room, going to church outings and choir battles with other churches in the neighborhood, and having grammar school and high school choir showcases. Here I am in present day, following my passion, for creating my own world of music.

So, sit back relax, have a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine, and enjoy an inspiring conversation…

New York Indie Artist “Tin Pan” Featuring their CD “Hound’s Tooth” and More…

Tin Pan
Tin Pan

New York Indie Artists “Tin Pan” Featuring their CD “Hound’s Tooth” and more.  Diversification of sound and influences is what this talented group delivers i.e. Alternative, Blues, Roots, Americana, Soul, and Jazz as an example.  This allows music to just flow with freedom, as it should through artists who know how to in fuse it to the next level.  Tin Pan’s music transcends time from then to now flowing seamlessly letting the spirit of music touch those that listen, this in and of it self is a gift.

Tin Pan members Jesse Selengut on trumpet, lead vocals and compositions, Clifton Hyde on guitar and hollerin’, Stefan Zeniuk on reeds and boy soprano vocals, and Peter “Baby Hands” Maness on bass and some singin’, Tin Pan evokes everything from Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong to Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael. Founded in 2006 by Selengut, a long time New York based musician, and the curator of the Williamsburg Jazz Festival, the band sprung from what he calls, “a need for this kind of music.” He elaborates, “As soon as I started playing this music, it just felt so easy and natural. It’s simplicity demands that you be totally committed to it – there’s no hiding behind theory or pose.”

Finding players to fit his vision was challenging, but when Selengut met Mississippi native Clifton Hyde, who has played with Lou Reed, Debbie Harry, Blue Man Group and others, he knew he found the right man. “I auditioned about 25 different guitarists,” Jesse recalls, “and right away I knew Clifton was perfect. He’s experienced with blues and jazz but isn’t constrained by excessive training. And he has an intuitive understanding of what dancers need.” Stefan Zeniuk entered the picture through Clifton, bringing in a touch of the avant-garde to the proceedings. “I’m not even sure Stefan is that interested in jazz. He’s just got incredible energy – (saxophonist) Tim Berne was his babysitter. I think that affected him for life,” says Selengut with a laugh. Bassist Pete “Baby Hands” Maness was chosen because when we discovered that he could slap the bass, spin the bass, and get every girl’s phone number all in the same tune.

So, sit back relax have a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine, and enjoy good conversation & music.  Oh, don’t forget to spread the news and join us…
